Also this year we want to present to you on the one hand the various developments in the field of fuel cells and hydrogen. On the other hand we would like to resume the activities of the network and discuss them with you.
With this objective in mind we have again set up a newsworthy and interesting programme. In the morning you will get a comprehensive survey about national and international developments. The afternoon session focuses on the activities in NRW.
One year ago we were expecting two important programmes: On the one hand the Joint Initiative on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (FCH JTI), on the other hand the German National Innovation Programme Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (NIP). Within the JTI the first call for project proposals has just been published. Within the NIP several projects are already on their way and the list of further project ideas and proposals is long. We see that North Rhine-Westphalia is very well positioned. Our expectations were even exceeded. Furthermore, we are experiencing a close and fruitful co-operation with the players in Berlin.
In addition, the network dealt intensively with the tasks and challenges for NRW. Together with the government of NRW we were successful in launching a NRW-specific programme which will flank the activities in Brussels and Berlin and contribute aspects to them which are important from NRW's point of view. The new key project of the NRW government, the so-called "NRW Hydrogen HyWay" will be presented to you in detail during the meeting.
The State Secretary of the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs, Dr. Baganz, will open the event together with his colleague, State Secretary Huizinga-Heringa of the Dutch Ministry of Transport. Afterwards our international guests from our neighbouring European countries will inform you about their activities. The second part of the event is dedicated to hydrogen infrastructure and production. According to the tradition we will give a detailed report on the activities of the FCHN NRW during the third session. Examples of running and planned projects will complete the view into the current work of the network.
For our foreign guests we provided a simultaneous interpretation of all speeches. Here you will find the programme.
